Shadow, Bruno and the rainbow pieces...

This wide-eyed wonder is 'Shadow'. Made this week from a super luxurious piece of hand dyed midnight blue mohair I had left in my personal stash. Teamed with the silver and cobalt blue of his eyes and bow... he's just a blue beauty!

Shadow is currently available in our etsy store. He is made from our Kanoa pattern - so it long and lean, but has a decent amount of weight in that pudgy belly!

We also finished this big boofy-bear from the Collaboration Bear's box. He had a note in his bag saying his name was Bruno, so we kept it for him.

(Random cat pic - this is 'our' Bruno - our British Short Hair kitten. Had to throw a pic of him in too! lol)

We've also been working on some custom rainbow-dyed bears this week as well. On the table above is actually the pieces for 4 new bears.

With colours like this, just pinning and sewing is a pleasure! A feast for the eyes!! More updates of these bright bears will come as I get them completed over the next week :)

The 'Strange Things' is now 'Winston the Cat'

This is Winston. He's a cat. I'm thinking 'Persian' probably most closely fits his breed description.

The design of the animal (specifically the way it is sitting) just seemed to say 'CAT' more than anything. The strange forked hands got me though - so we made them more rounded like real cat paws.

He's a BIG cat too measuring in at a decent 27" long from nose to tail. I do believe that he was supposed to be a cat all along - I just hope I done him justice!

He's currently available in our etsy store.

The Strange Thing

Meet 'The Strange Thing'.

I found him in one of the bags rattling around in the 'bear-bits-box' last week.

My first thought was maybe he was a cat, or a dragon? But then I pulled him out, and laid him down as he looks like he should be assembled... and I'm stumped. I have no idea what he's supposed to be!

His head and ears look quite teddy-like, and have been sewn and turned already. He also has a very long, narrow tail sewn and turned from the same long pile faux fur.

His body has odd little pointed arms, all positioned sightly differently - making him look like he's mid-crawl.

I sewed all that needed to be sewn on his body - and this is how he looked before being turned right side out.

And this is after. I am even more stumped now!!! What on earth is this! With the forked hands/feet/claws? And the large body, long tail, rounded bear-like ears and snub nosed-face... I have no idea where to go from here!

Would love to hear what you guys think? If you've seen a design like this before, or have any suggestions as to what he should look like when finished...

I kind of need to decide what he's going to be before I give him a face! :P

Bella

Chelsea and i took a drive over to 'the other side' of town today to visit my mum (her Nonna). We spent the day hanging out, and chatting and eating! All the best things in life. While Chelsea had a HUGE midday sleep, i sat out on the deck in the warm autumn sunshine with their dog Bella.

Bella is impossible to get photos of because you can't see where her eyes are! And she never stays still. I managed to trick her into this pose by saying 'walkies!'. Seems to be a word most english-speaking doggies understand!

Three things i discovered today:
* The black and white cat that lives down the road has eyes that glow green when my car headlight shines on them
* The local population of rainbow lorikeets decided to have a dusk gathering in the trees that spanned the main road as i drove home.
* I have developed quite a good resistance to Chelsea's cries of protest while i drive!
