Truly Scrumptious

These little darlings have just been 'born' this afternoon. I've been posting updates of their progress on our facebook page, and asked for some name suggestions which is how 'Truly' and 'Scrumptious' came about.

Truly is the big sister and Scrumptious the little one.

They're both cut from a piece of our hand-dyed rainbow sparkle mohair and one of the last pieces of our white curly kid mohair! (I still can't believe we got through a WHOLE ROLL of that fur!!!)

Truly is 13" tall and has actually already been adopted.

Scrumptious is 9" tall and also available in our esty store.

Aubree

Meet Aubree. She likes chai lattes and lazy sunday afternoon naps. She's looking for her perfect family and has promised not to be too disruptive. At least not for the first 24hrs or so anyways. After she's settled in and taken over the couch, she's not making any promises.

Shadow, Bruno and the rainbow pieces...

This wide-eyed wonder is 'Shadow'. Made this week from a super luxurious piece of hand dyed midnight blue mohair I had left in my personal stash. Teamed with the silver and cobalt blue of his eyes and bow... he's just a blue beauty!

Shadow is currently available in our etsy store. He is made from our Kanoa pattern - so it long and lean, but has a decent amount of weight in that pudgy belly!

We also finished this big boofy-bear from the Collaboration Bear's box. He had a note in his bag saying his name was Bruno, so we kept it for him.

(Random cat pic - this is 'our' Bruno - our British Short Hair kitten. Had to throw a pic of him in too! lol)

We've also been working on some custom rainbow-dyed bears this week as well. On the table above is actually the pieces for 4 new bears.

With colours like this, just pinning and sewing is a pleasure! A feast for the eyes!! More updates of these bright bears will come as I get them completed over the next week :)

Aurelia and Cora

We have literally JUST finished Aurelia a few hours ago. She's been cut/pinned and waiting for sewing for quite a while (I actually forgot about her!). But after re-discovering her pieces, I didn't need much more motivation to get her done!

I just love this fur - super long pile mohair in a rich auburn/chestnut tone. We've chosen a pair of our OOAK painted glass eyes for her in nearly the exact same shade of copper as well (they have photographed a bit ligher in colour then they actually are).

Aurelia is a decent 19" tall, and she's quite weighty. We currently have her available for adoption in our etsy store. (But I will say that I'm not going to be too upset if she doesn't find a new home any time soon! :P)

And this little lady is 'Cora'. Made in our 'Husky Pup' faux fur - which was just the perfect colour match for this sweet pink jacket. She too has a pair of our hand painted eyes, but is a much smaller 12" in size.

We gave her quite low set ears as well so that her hoodie can come over her head, but her ears stick out the side. She too is currently available in our etsy store.

Peaches and Verdi

We have another two collaboration bears to add to the growing collection! This tiny 8" cutie is 'Peaches' - made in a really unusual (possibly hand-dyed) straight pile mohair.

And this unusual girl is 'Verdi' - so named for her shimmering green eyes! She is definitely a little different - but one of Mark's favourites so far.

Just a few more Collaboration Bears... (20+ photos to go with them!)

As you're about to see - I've been having fun with the bear-bits-box! It's like Christmas each time I have a rummage through there... what will I find today!?

These are the Collaboration Bears completed over the last week or so.

We have 'Snicklefritz Schnauzer' below. He was a mass of confusing shapes in a bag marked 'dog'. But we wrestled with him and found a gorgeous little Schnauzer puppy under all that fluff.

He has been adopted.

This little guy just begged to be finished! I picked a piece up out of his bag and my finger tips fell in love. The fur is SO soft! (quite fiddly to work with), but beautiful to hold.

We called him 'Cream Puff' - and he is currently on HOLD.

~*~

This little guy was made as a request to see if there was a blue/green bear in the box that needed to be finished. He is going to be a friend for a special little boy. He was the ONLY blue/green mohair bear in all the hundreds of packets - so I think it is one of those 'meant to be' situations.

'Norah' ended up a bit crazier than I thought she would. As soon as I set those startling blue eyes I knew she needed a crazy nose to go with them - and this was the result! Her fur is a gorgeous vibrant purple mohair on a pink backing. I KNOW I used some of this many many years ago. ( I can't for the life of me think what that bear's name was though).
[just had a quick look through my bearpile archives - still can't find the bear I'm thinking of! :P Sophia was made in a very similar fabric, just with sparkles]

Norah is available in our esty store at present.

THIS stunner was completed yesterday. It was another case of reaching into a bag of bear bits, only to have my finger tips explode with gloriousness... this was no ordinary fur. This is real fur. Like fur on leather real fur.

I have no idea what kind of real fur - only that it's in incredibly good condition, very thick and very soft. The photos have not captured the colours well either. It didn't help that it's quite a dark/rich red tone, and that the collar is a royal purple (my camera HATES purple!), nor that it has been raining here for the last week or so...

but none of that mattered for Merlot's new mum, and she has now been ADOPTED.

And lastly - to finish this mammoth post - we have gorgeous little 'Hobart'. I have the same feeling of deja vu working with his mohair - I am pretty sure I've used the same fur about 6-7yrs ago on a larger bear (funny I can remember the fabric, but not the finished bears name!).

Nonetheless - it is stunning mohair - long, thick and wavy, and a lovely traditional gold colour.

Hobart was named 'Hattie' on his packet... but he is most definitely a boy bear - so we renamed him.

He is currently available as well.
