We don't do this very often. But we wanted to say a huge thankyou to our amazing customers. It was officially 1 year last month since we launched Fur Addiction, and even we're surprised at how many wonderful new people we've met and what a crazy journey running a small business as your sole form of family income can be!

End of the world? (why not stock up on fur!?)

Mark and I have decided to approach the CRAZY hype about the supposed end of the world tomorrow with a bit of humour (after being bombarded by it all week through TV, internet, radio... basically every media outlet available. And I'm sure we're not the only one's feeling that way. I think we'll all breathe a sigh of relief when the 22nd comes along - and not because we've survived, but because we can leave all the apocalypse stuff behind us and get on with Christmas!)

So, for approx 24hrs we've got a 40% off sale happening in our eBay Fur Addiction store. We figure if the world really does end tomorrow, we won't need a house full of fur and you won't need that extra bit of cash! And if it doesn't end - then you get some serious bargains to keep you crafting over the Christmas holidays!

End of Year SALE

I've just realised how long it has been since I've had any kind of sale/give-away... ages!!!

So, I've decided to celebrate the end of 2011 and welcome in the start of 2012 with a huge 35% off EVERYTHING in my etsy store. (Which includes all bears, bunnies, guinea pigs, patterns, tutorials, baby toys and sale items!).

All you need to do is use the coupon code 'HAPPYNEWYEAR' when you go through the esty checkout, and your discount will be applied. I'll run the sale until the 7th January, so you have a few days to decide if there's a bear you've had your eye on for a while, but couldn't justify buying! But just a little warning - most of the creations are one of a kind, and once they're gone, I cannot replicate them! Be quick if there is something/someone you really want!

The Cotton Brothers - Norman and Arthur

Here are the colour photos of my Cotton Brothers Norman (panda) and Arthur (grubby one).

These guys are made from some lovely thick 100% cotton hand towels (which is why they look like towelling!). I was walking through K-mart with the kids recently when I spotted some really lush towels. I immediately thought of bears, and decided to see how they'd turn out.

It wasn't the easiest fabric to work with, and if I do it again I'll definitely make a bear bigger than 9". But I love the texture the towelling gives the bears. It really adds that sweet, whimsical look. I'm particularly pleased with Norman. The pattern and colours really worked for him. Arthur started out with real potential - but alas I got a bit heavy handed with my dye, and kind of ruined him!

He's still a perfectly fine bear. Just a little grubby looking. And not even the good kind of grubby. Because of this I'm listing him straight up at a sale price. You can find Norman and Arthur in my bearpile store.

ebay bargains

Just over a day left on my bear army 99c eBay listings! They're still really cheap too so grab a super bargain!

eBay. Need I say more! :P

I have a very fickle relationship with eBay. For years there I had a bear for auction every week. Then I just got sick of the uncertainty of it. Would the bear sell or not? Would it get to a level I considered reasonable, or finish at little more than a 99c starting price? So I stopped, preferring to only list on bearpile and etsy.

But I noticed this afternoon (while browsing for a tiny baby-size tuxedo for Byron to wear to a wedding in a months time) that listing is free now if you start your item at 99c. And, at the moment the gallery image fee is free as well. Not sure how long this has been like this, or will be like this, but I thought I'd give eBay another chance.

I may regret this, but what's life without a little risk! :P



So I now have all the remaining 'bear army' bears listed at 99c, no reserve, 7 day listing if any of you are keen to check them out. Great way to score one of my bears for cheap!

Two for One Patterns in my ETSY store

After another spending spree in Allison's (eTeddies) Teddy Bear Mohair store, I've decided to offer two for one patterns in my etsy store to try and get my account looking a little healthier again! All you need to do is purchase one pattern, then let me know in the checkout comments section which other pattern you'd like. This offer will be current for one week from Now (8th April) till next friday (15th April).

My patterns aren't particularly complicated, but they work, and I give you full freedom to sell any creations you make from them. (and they're all in PDF, so you can have them immediately - no waiting for the post!)

I've been meaning to have a sale on some of my older bears for a while now, and finally got around to marking them all down this afternoon. Most of them are at least $100 off, or close to 40% reduced. So pop on over to my etsy shop and check out the bargains!!

Half price sale

Just a quick note to let you know that I've just reduced some of the older bear stock to half price to see if I can move them out. It's a little bit of needing the shelf space, and a little bit of just wanting 'psychological space' for new ideas. :P

There are 7 bears on bearpile (my own and 'Bear Shop' bears). While on etsy I just have the 5 of my own.
